Students who are pursuing a secondary teaching certificate in the STEM areas will begin their undergraduate careers as a mathematics major or science major in Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, or Physics. An advisor from one of these content areas will be assigned. Upon beginning their secondary education coursework, a faculty member with expertise in secondary school science teaching will be assigned as an additional advisor. Upon completion of the program, the student will receive a B.S. or B.A. degree from the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics.
The undergraduate requirements to obtain a secondary teaching certificate program are listed below. For student teaching, a minimum 2.75 is required in the professional education courses, and a minimum overall of 2.75 is required.
