Julie Muller Stahl began her dance training at the Princeton Ballet School, School of American Ballet and Burklyn Ballet Theater. Her training in the Vaganova Method came under the direction of the late Marika Besobrasova (L’Academie de Danse Classique de Princess Grace), Elena Kunikova (Kirov Ballet), and Elisabeth Carroll (Harkness Ballet/Skidmore College). As a young dancer, she was also trained in the modern dance techniques of Paul Taylor, Martha Graham, Jose Limon, Paul Sanasardo and Jennifer Muller. After receiving a BS in Dance and English from Skidmore College, Ms. Stahl joined Hubbard Street Dance Company in 1990 and shortly thereafter moved on to dance with FELD Ballets/NY and Twyla Tharp Dance Company. Performing and touring throughout the world, she has performed a diverse repertoire, from full-length ballets to works by Balanchine, Agnes DeMille, Jiří Kylián, and Daniel Ezralow among others in addition original works by choreographers Elliot Feld and Twyla Tharp. Ms. Stahl has been as a guest artist with the New York City Opera and several regional dance companies. Ms. Stahl continued to dance professionally until 2000 when she began teaching in the New York Metropolitan area while pursuing a career in Marketing and Design. Ms. Stahl is an ABT® (American Ballet Theater) Certified Teacher who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. She is currently on the faculty of The Washington Ballet School, Ballet Royale in Columbia County and is excited to be a part of the Towson University Community Dance Program.
