Typography

Typography is a critical tool in building a distinctive style and unique brand identity. The base fonts in the Towson University identity system are the Rotis SemiSans and Sabon type families. They have letterform characteristics that provide a distinctive look for Towson University publications.

The Frutiger families have been added to supplement Rotis and Sabon, primarily for display use. (larger than 24 point). Visually match the distinctive letterform characteristics shown in the example to ensure consistency.

In the event that Rotis SemiSans, Frutiger or Sabon is not available, Helvetica and Times may be substituted for laser printing only. All professionally printed jobs must use Rotis SemiSans, Frutiger and/or Sabon.
