President’s Pre-game Reception
President Caret entertained faculty/staff campaign donors of $250 and above at a pre-game reception on January 24, 2008, prior to the women’s basketball game vs. Drexel. The party was attended by close to 100 campus leaders, and the lady tigers were victorious.
2007 Founders Society and Tower Light Society
Fall President's Reception
Members of the 2007 Founders Society and the Tower Light Society attended an exclusive reception hosted by Towson University president Robert L. Caret, on November 1, 2007 in the Potomac Lounge on campus. The Founders Society is the university's premier leadership group for annual support and recognizes alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff who are dedicated to the vision of Towson. Through their generosity, Founders Society members show commitment to the university’s ambitions and confidence in its plans for the future. The Tower Light Society, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, recognizes those who have planned for the future of Towson through their estate gifts.
2007 Foundation Scholars Luncheon
The Foundation Scholars Luncheon honors and brings together the current year’s scholarship recipients and donors. This year’s celebration took place April 4th in the Chesapeake Rooms of the University Union on the Towson University campus. Attended by over 320 scholarship donors, recipients and their families and campus representatives, the luncheon offered the opportunity for donors and their recipients to get to know one another and to explore the meaning and rewards of philanthropy. The program included testimonials from donor Tracy Miller ‘93 and four Foundation Scholars, as well as remarks from president Robert Caret and vice president for university advancement, Gary Rubin ‘69.

Campaign Kick-Off Celebration
Towson University unleashed its $50 million capital campaign on November 2, 2006 with a spectacular party attended by nearly 400 alumni, donors and friends of the university. The evening began with a nostalgic journey down memory lane as guests enjoyed playful vignettes highlighting some of Towson’s most treasured times. The Tiger Marching Band took the lead moving the party into a retro-lounge style concert arena where President Caret made brief remarks and recognized lead donors to the Growing a University campaign. Later, renowned recording artists Three Dog Night took the stage and rocked the house as guests danced the night away.

The Towson Center sports arena was transformed into a major party venue. On-site preparations for the event spanned 6 days and involved more than 30 campus staff, resulting in 5 stage sets, built from scratch, the new bronze tiger statue, and a concert lounge.

A new bronze statue of the Towson tiger, a gift from the TU Alumni Association, was unveiled during the Campaign Kick-Off Celebration on November 2. The 600-pound statue found a permanent home in front of Stephens Hall during a formal unveiling at the beginning of the spring semester. |
