To celebrate the rich diversity of the Towson community, encourage study abroad opportunities and enhance campus beautification, former president Maravene Loeschke ’69/’71 created the International Walkway in 2012. The walkway features illuminated flagpoles flying international flags that represent the home countries of students attending Towson University. The site for the International Walkway is an expansive landscaped area located between the College of Liberal Arts and the Psychology Building.
With a gift of $5,000, donors will both underwrite the cost of the flagpole installation and contribute $3,000 to a general Study Abroad Fund.
While gifts may be made in any amount, name plates will be affixed to flagpoles to recognize those friends who contribute at the $5,000 level. Additionally, they will be recognized as members of the Founders Society, the university’s annual leadership recognition program. Please note that, because our international student population and study abroad options change, your gift will support the general initiative rather than a specific country’s flag or program.
