Bio

Milagros Garrido graduated from Towson University with a degree in International Studies and Economics. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Social Science and a certificate in Family Professional Collaboration. During her time at Towson as an undergraduate, Milagros has been involved in several student organizations such as the Red Cross, Latin American Student Organization, and the International Student Association. She is a member of Phi Sigma Phi Co-ed Honor Fraternity and Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors Organization.  Currently, she is the advisor of the Interested Ladies of  Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.

In addition, she has had extensive volunteering experience in her home country, Peru, and in the Baltimore area helping those experiencing maltreatment. She has also worked with kids with special needs through various organizations. She still works as a volunteer with the American Red Cross in their Disaster Team Action.

Milagros enjoys traveling and planning activities and events. She hopes that her graduate assistantship with the Center for Student Diversity will provide her with the tools necessary to help other students become engaged in the Towson University community.
