Bio

Keelan Ostrand is the Administrative Assistant I at the Center for Student Diversity.  She is originally from Chandler, Arizona.  She decided to forge her own path in Fall of 2004 and transfer from Mesa Community College to Towson University to finish her undergraduate degree.  Keelan comes to our office as a Summa Cum Laude Spring 2007 graduate of the Towson University College of Liberal Arts.  She also met the additional requirements needed to graduate from the TU Honors Program.  While enrolled at Towson, Keelan had the privilege of studying abroad for eight months in the Dominican Republic where she became fluent in Spanish.  In addition, Keelan was extremely involved on Towson’s campus as a Resident Assistant and a member of the Black Student Union, Latin American Student Organization, Brotherhood and White Privilege Awareness Movement.  As an alumnus, she is continuing her social justice work with Brotherhood and White Privilege Awareness Movement.

Keelan is considering a Masters and eventually a Ph.D. in an area related to economic development of underdeveloped countries or diversity in higher education.  In the meantime, she keeps herself busy building her own business part-time and mentoring others with similar goals. Furthermore, Keelan enjoys speaking, listening to and reading anything in Spanish, dancing (especially Latin and hip-hop), spending time with the people she loves and learning among many other things.
