Joel Bolling is the Associate Director for LGBT Student Development in the Center for Student Diversity at Towson University.  In his role, he supports lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and ally (LGBTQIA) students at Towson University and the greater LGBTQIA community. Joel provides counseling, advising, academic support, diversity trainings, Safe Space programs, and guest lectures for the Towson University campus.

Prior to coming to the Towson University, Joel was the Coordinator for LGBTQIA Programs & Services at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, running their LGBTQIA office. He served as the Program Organizer for the Pride Collaborative within the Center for Student Cultural Diversity at the University of Nevada, Reno. Whether he worked with underrepresented and underserved populations, with a particular focus on the LGBTQIA community, women's equity, African American students, and religious minorities. There Joel’s work included guest lectures and practicum supervision within the fields of social work, medicine, nursing, human development and family studies, and psychology, and education.

Joel received his Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Biology and minor in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Nevada, Reno. He completed a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership with a focus in Higher Education Administration, also from the University of Nevada.

Outside of work, Joel enjoys baking, gardening, yoga, and kickboxing.
