Jayne started working for Towson University in February 2002 in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice. While she loved advising the students she left the department for a promotion. A few years later Jayne began work in the administrative office of Albert S. Cook Library. She enjoyed being part of the renovation of the Special Collections and Archives and bringing over the Baltimore Hebrew Collection. However, she missed the direct contact with the students and so in September 2012, she began her new position in the Center for Student Diversity.

Jayne is a strong advocate for fairness and works on many issues related to social justice, mental illness and domestic violence. She is a long-time member of the NAACP and a member of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI). Jayne also enjoys volunteer work: especially with Special Olympics Maryland and crocheting for various non-profit agencies. Jayne was the University System of Maryland Board of Regents Staff Award Winner for Extraordinary Public Service to the University or Greater Community for 2014.

Jayne was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and after spending some years living in the Pacific Northwest (Bellingham, WA) she moved to Maryland in 2001. Her passions include:  roadtrips, reading and spending time with her granddaughters.
