Marie Lilly started at Towson University as the Associate Director for Women's Resources in May of 2011. Her position is responsible for coordinating campus programming that addresses the unique needs of female college students, providing a space for all students to discuss issues of gender, and building the leadership capacity of female and male students. Additionally, she works within the campus community to incorporate practices designed to promote gender equality and reduce individual and institutional sexism. She works closely with other members of CSD to make sure gender equality is a part of discussions on the development of all college students regardless of age, race, sexual orientation or identity.

Prior to joining the faculty and staff at TU, Marie served as a Program Manager and Community Educator at TurnAround, Inc. a non-profit serving victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. As an educator, she conducted presentations to students of all ages in public and private schools as well as local colleges. She also wrote numerous curriculums including professional trainings on responding to violence for medical professionals, college administrators, and other community service providers. As a program manager, she developed the Survivors' Network and Trauma Prevention Program which delivered specialized services to women who were victims of violence and who were also homeless, in recovery for substance abuse, and/or incarcerated. Finally, she supervised the creation and administration of a variety of smaller programs including the Community Anti-Violence Project which addressed violence in Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Communities.

Marie has Bachelor's degrees in English and Religious Studies as well as Minors in Women's Studies, Cross-Cultural Studies, and European History from McDaniel College (though it was Western Maryland College when she attended) in Westminster, MD. She completed her Master's in Women's Studies from Towson University with a concentration in Women, Health, and Sexuality. She also sits on the University's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Committee.

In her spare time, Marie enjoys hiking with her dachshund Oscar, running, kayaking, and all manner of outdoor fun. She is also active in her Baltimore City neighborhood.
