English Language Center (ELC)

It is my pleasure to welcome you Towson University's English Language Center Program. We are working with a company called CORT that specializes in assisting international students with their move to Towson. To better serve your needs as you prepare to come to Towson University, I would like to introduce you to Chris Picarde, a Higher Education Specialist from CORT, who can assist you with every aspect of your move to Towson. I have also attached an introductory flyer that better describes all the services he can assist with to ensure your transition to Towson University is smooth and as stress free as possible. He can assist with housing, furniture, getting set up with utilities, and anything else related to your move.

I believe you will find this most convenient as it will allow you to have just one very experienced contact person to address your needs.

Students who wish to live off campus can contact any of the apartment buildings listed below. 

Some students prefer to live off campus for these reasons:

• Off campus housing is usually cheaper than on campus dormitories
• Students can cook at home and eat more healthy foods.  They can also purchase meal plans or add dining points to their One Cards (ID cards)
• Many apartments are close to campus
• Shuttle bus provides transport to and from campus
• TU police and the TU Escort Service are available to help students across campus  
• International students can experience college life as American students do.
• students gain valuable experiences in becoming independent and responsible
• There is a greater opportunity to share space with a native speaker and therefor,e improve English faster.
