English Language Center (ELC)

Student Voices

The students at the English Language Center at Towson University come from many countries all over the world.  We represent such countries as Thailand, Korea, Japan, Venezuela, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Senegal, and Mali, to name just a few.

We study English here for different reasons. Some of us want to attend an American university and take home a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, mass communications, biology, nursing, or any other of the many programs offered here at Towson.  Others of us want to improve our language skills so that we can obtain better jobs back home.  Some of us are permanent residents or citizens of the United States, and we need to develop our English skills so we can become better integrated in our new society.

At this website, you will find the writings of the ELC students.  Visit us often because our stories, advice and other entries will change frequently.  We hope that someday you will join us here in Towson and YOU will contribute to our website as an ELC student.
