EducationUniversity of Miami (M.F.A) AccomplishmentsAlex Willemin is an independent filmmaker with a background in digital film production. He earned his M.F.A in Motion Picture Production from the University of Miami. While in graduate school, Willemin worked at the Lynn and Louis Wolfson II Film Archive where he organized and created footage packages for documentaries that aired on ESPN and PBS. His thesis film American Karoshi screened at various film festivals across the country and garnered awards such as Best Micro Budget Film at the American International Film Festival in Ann Arbor, Michigan and an Award of Merit at The Best Shorts Competition in La Jolla, California. Willemin returned to his undergraduate alma mater in 2011 and is now a visiting assistant professor, teaching courses in introductory and intermediate film production, as well as history of film. He has also taught courses in screenwriting and digital film production at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Currently, Willemin is developing his first feature film.
