Towson University is an equal opportunity, affirmative action institution. The university does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation or gender identity in its programs and activities.
In order to continue to be responsive to the needs of our growing community, the Executive Division expanded the services of the Office of Fair Practices to include Title IX and ADA oversight. The Office handles disability-related compliance and access requirements for the campus. Likewise for Title IX, the Office helps ensure compliance with equal opportunity law and investigates discrimination and sexual harassment complaints regarding Title IX for students, faculty, staff and campus visitors. In addition, the office has expanded and is now called the Office of Institutional Equity.
The Office of Institutional Equity works to support the University's commitment to a learning and working environment free from sexual misconduct and discrimination. The office is responsible for overseeing and implementing the University's compliance with Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA/ 504, as well as other federal and state laws and regulations.
