What? Central Maryland College Career Fair

When? Thursday, Feb. 23

Where? Towson Center Arena

Why? To help TU students and recent graduates make a transition into the working world. Participants will have access to 154 of the region's top employers.

How? Open to all college graduates in the Baltimore area. Students should dress professionally and bring plenty of résumés.

Food services respond to diverse needs

The Sun Education Supplement, Feb. 19

Roy Cubbler, resident district manager for Chartwells, spoke with contributing writer Mary Medland about Chartwells' response to culinary requests from TU students and staff. He cited the Mongolian Grill in the Newell Dining Hall as an example of a "very popular station, one that is very healthy and really improves customer satisfaction." Cubbler said he anticipates additional availability and awareness of healthy dining options on campus.

In anticipation of a Feb. 16 meeting between Towson community leaders and TU President Robert L. Caret, reporter Laura Barnhardt spoke with James Sheehan, chief financial officer and vice president for administration and finance, and Deb Moriarty, vice president for student affairs, about one of the major topics up for discussion: expected growth in off-campus student housing in the coming years. Sheehan said that TU plans to seek proposals this year for building a new on-campus residence hall that would open in fall 2008.

Baltimore Architecture Project puts city's history online

Architectural historian Sandra Tatman, Department of Art, spoke with Pamela Higgins about TU's role in researching local architects and developing biographical sketches for the Baltimore Architectural Project, a collaboration between Johns Hopkins University, TU, the Athenaeum of Philadelphia and the Baltimore Architectural Foundation. The project's purpose is to gather documents relating to Baltimore's rich architectural history from libraries, churches, hospitals and museums and put them online at www.baltimorebuildings.org.
