Big Bird: This German-built tower crane has been eliciting gasps ever since it arrived a few days ago at the Center for the Arts construction site. A 243-foot reach enables it to cover 180,000 square feet of work area, and it's capable of lifting 3,000 pounds at the tip (and a whopping seven tons at 120 feet).
