TU by the numbers

A spring 2006 statistical snapshot

The total number of students enrolled this spring is 17,136. This represents a 1.8 percent increase over spring 2005 and a 4.2 percent increase over spring 2002.

TU enrolled 13,883 undergraduate students. Of these, 13.2 percent are part-time, 60.5 percent are women and 81.6 percent are Maryland residents.

Of the 3,253 graduate students enrolled, 74.7 percent are part-time, 75.2 percent are women and 85 percent are Maryland residents. Graduate enrollment represents 19 percent of the total enrollment.

Undergraduate enrollment is up 2.1 percent over spring 2005 and is 3.2 percent higher than spring 2002. Graduate enrollment increased .7 percent over spring 2005 and 9.2 percent since spring 2002.  

The part-time enrollment of 4,261 accounts for 24.9 percent of the total enrollment. Of all part-time students, 57.1 percent are graduate students and 65.3 percent are women.

The annualized full-time equivalent (FTE) for FY 2006 is 14,390.9, an increase of 413 or 3 percent over FY 2005.
