An emerging strategy

Business writer Andy Rosen spoke to Babu Baradwaj, Department of Finance, about T. Rowe Price's launch of an Africa & Middle East Fund. Baradwaj said a mutual fund which has the benefit of its management's knowledge of the region could be a good way to get into untapped Middle Eastern and African markets, and that it would be less risky than an individual investment.

Baltimore Business Journal , September 7

Higher Education reporter Sue Schultz spoke with Joe Oster, assistant vice president for auxiliary services, about declining textbook sales at college bookstores as students increasingly purchase books at a discount online. Schultz also spoke with TU senior Sharon Leff, who said she saved about 40 to 50 percent buying online this fall. "It took a little bit of work, but it was worth it to save," Leff said.

'New York Times' Enters Distance Learning Market

Editor Scott Jaschik spoke with President Robert L. Caret about The New York Times' new online initiative that pairs its content with faculty course material for both credit-bearing and continuing education courses; TU is one of the first universities to partner with theTimes, offering two project-management courses.
