Business reporter Hanah Cho spoke with Judy Harris, Department of Marketing and e-Business, about Smarterville Inc.'s effort to market Hooked on Phonics internationally through a dubbed informercial. Even when met abroad with the same kind of skepticism U.S. viewers have for them, the informercials can still be effective "but they will be more effective when they are designed with the particular country in mind," Harris said.

Car sales emit faint whiff of recession
