Annual Campaign director explains why your gift
to Towson University matters
She may be new to TU, but Meghan Culbertson understands why it’s critically important to continue TU’s proud tradition of faculty/staff giving.

Why is my gift so important?
When TU employees give, it says so much about their commitment to the university’s programs and students. When we approach prospective off-campus donors, we can point to those gifts as evidence that our own faculty and staff members support our mission and see TU as a place for philanthropic investment.

Can I earmark my gift for a particular area or department?
The number of giving opportunities here is really amazing—there are so many choices. I urge you to support what you are passionate about, whether that’s scholarships, athletics, the library, or academic departments or programs. You can also choose to designate your gift to the unrestricted University Enhancement Fund so that your contribution can be used where it is needed most.

How does the Faculty/Staff Giving Campaign
help students?
Scholarships are the best-known way your gift can help students, but gifts also enable the university to obtain things that wouldn’t be covered by the operating budget, such as educational materials or technology upgrades. Within any department, you’ll find an opportunity to enhance a program or an activity.

If I’m unable to make a big gift, would a small one help?
We’d like you to examine your philanthropic priorities and give what you feel is appropriate. All gifts to the university, regardless of size, are appreciated.

How can I contribute?
Members of the faculty and staff received a letter and a gift card last month. The card gives recipients the options of payroll deduction or making a one-time gift via check, Visa, MasterCard or Discover. To designate your gift, please include the account name and/or number on both the card and your check. You can also make your gift online or find designations at www.towson.edu/supportTU. [back to
