Chief takes the plunge

Chillin' for charity: Chief of Police Bernard Gerst high-fives a diver at the 15th annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge, held Jan. 29 at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis. Gerst braved the bay as a TU representative and as president of the Maryland Chiefs of Police Association. The 12,000 intrepid plungers raised $2.1 million for Special Olympics of Maryland.
