Staff Kudos

 

Dyan Brasington, DECO,  was named to the Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA) Hall of Fame at a June 1 ceremony held during the organization's annual conference. She was honored for 30 years of serving Maryland's economic development community, which includes her leadership in government and private-sector development agencies at the state, local and regional levels. Brasington also was the first woman to serve as president of MEDA, a nonprofit organization of economic development professionals.

Eric Rhew, Athletics Media Relations, has been cited by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for excellence in the publishing of the Tigers’ 2009 men’s and women’s lacrosse media guides.
Eric, a 2005 TU graduate, wrote and edited both publications. The men’s guide earned second place in the national contest, with the women’s lacrosse guide finishing third. (It was the only women’s lacrosse publication to receive CoSIDA recognition among the top five.) The award-winning publications were designed under the supervision of Chris Komisar, Design Center.

Debbie Seeberger, Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity, presented “Fostering Civic Engagement: A Long-Term Diversity Plan Toward Institutional Reform” at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities American Democracy Project (ADP) national meeting on June 12. Her presentation focused on TU as a model university for exploring the intersection between diversity and civic engagement.

Kristi Yowell, Office of Human Resources, has been selected by the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR) to receive one of three SunGard Higher Education Innovation Awards for her development of a multi-institutional cohort program for employee training and development. The award recognizes demonstrated innovations that advance the human resource profession. Yowell will be honored by her peers at the CUPA-HR National Conference and Expo 2009 in Las Vegas. In addition, SunGard Higher Education will give $3,000 to the TU endowment or scholarship fund of her choice.
