Learn about Islam at Osher Institute Lunch and Learn program
Faculty, staff urged to attend November 20 lecture,
consider membership regardless of age
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is hosting a Lunch and Learn program especially for on-campus faculty and staff. Join us for an enlightening and provocative hour on a timely topic.
The first lecture will be "Understanding Islam" with James Blackburn, M.A. M.Div., retired Episcopal priest and Osher faculty member. The lecture is in the Administration Building, Room 424 on Thursday, November 20, from noon to 1 p.m. Cookies and beverages will be provided.
Enjoy this hour and get to know more about the Osher Institute.
Osher is working toward 500 members in order to apply for a $1 million endowment in early 2009 from the Bernard Osher Foundation, having received grants from that foundation for the past three years. We are very close to the required 500 with 480 members.
We offer our supporting membership to all TU faculty and staff, regardless of age, for only $25 annually, which is half our regular fee.
Another Lunch and Learn is planned for January, and there will be more in the future for supporting members. In addition, your membership entitles you to a class if you have the time to attend.
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Towson University is a component of Extended Education and Online Learning (EEOL) and the Division of Economic and Community Outreach (DECO).
