Facilities Management

The heart of planning, maintenance and operations at TU.

Facilities Management plans, designs, constructs, maintains and operates Towson University’s physical environment. We are responsible for approximately six million square feet of space in 57 buildings on 329 acres. Our goal is to serve the diverse needs of the campus community, focusing on responsive and reliable customer service.

Maintenance

We offer a wide range of maintenance and repair services, ranging from pest control to ice and snow removal. Many services can be requested by having your building coordinator complete an online maintenance request or calling Work Control at 410-704-2481. We also perform small construction projects and offer vehicle rentals for employees and students traveling on university business.

Planning

We develop the campus master plan, which embodies the university’s long-term vision for the future physical development of campus. Once approved, we advocate for and complete the major construction projects outlined in the plan.

Sustainability

Our Office of Sustainability works to reduce the campus's greenhouse gas emissions through energy conservation, recycling and waste reduction, green building practices, alternative transportation choices and education and research.  We also invite you to learn more about our stormwater management program. To get more involved with campus sustainability, contact us or sign up to become a TU Eco-Rep

Receiving, Warehousing, Property Disposal & Moving

Material Management operates the university's central warehouse and serves as the primary receiving hub for campus deliveries. We perform office moves and maintain an inventory of class record books, TU logo envelopes and interoffice envelopes for departments ordering supplies. We also help departments properly dispose of property and maintain adequate record-keeping practices to ensure compliance and information security.
