Procedure for Submission of Proposals to the FCSM Curriculum
Submit one signed copy to the committee Chair via campus mail or messenger (Biology, Smith 341).
Also submit forms and proposals to committee Chair as attached files via e-mail. Proposals will be distributed to the committee via e-mail.
Curriculum Proposal Distribution Following College Approval. Once proposals have been approved, it will be the responsibility of the proposing department to produce and deliver the required copies to the next step in the curriculum process. The instructions are as follows, and they are attached as well:
Undergraduate Programs – New and Existing – Form C – 20 copies
University Curriculum Committee
Deliver to Shana Gass, Cook Library
Greg Faller, current Chair
Undergraduate Course Proposals
University Curriculum Committee; Course Approval Subcommittee
Course Proposals – New and Existing (Form A and Form B) – 12 copies.
Gail Gaparich – Biology
Note: Undergraduate courses seeking 500 level credit as well see below.
University Curriculum Committee; General Education Subcommittee
Course Proposals for GenEd credit (in addition to Form A & B above) – 15 copies
Suzanne Hill (Registrar's office)
(Peter Wray is currently Chair)
Graduate Course and Program Proposals
Graduate Studies Committee
Should be addressed to Associate Dean Lawrence Shirley, Graduate Studies, CGER
New courses (with Form A) and changes to existing courses (with Form B) need three hard copies, one of which is signed. It is helpful if we get these in electronic form for easier distribution to our committee members, but we still need at least one hard-copy with ink signatures for our files.
Changes to existing programs (with Form C) need 15 hard copies.
New programs (using the MHEC/USM format) also need 15 hard copies. This is also useful be supplemented by an electronic version.
