The primary goal of the program is to increase awareness and access to these programs and the career opportunities they provide. We aim to increase the probability of retention and persistence in these target areas of science, mathematics, and computing. A secondary goal is to increase the number of students in the programs who become aware of the interdisciplinary nature of mathematics, computing and the sciences. In addition to the variety of activities offered, we will expect all CoSMiC scholars will enroll in a one-unit interdisciplinary course that explores careers and opportunities in science, technology, and mathematics.
