Secondary School Track

The Secondary School Track in the Master of Science in mathematics education provides certified high school teachers with advanced knowledge in mathematics content and pedagogy.

The Secondary School Track is designed to ensure that certified high school teachers meet and surpass the standards set by the No Child Left Behind Act while preparing to advance their careers. Many graduates go on to leadership positions in mathematics education as master teachers, curriculum developers and mathematics supervisors.  

The program offers core coursework in advanced mathematical content, mathematics education and pedagogy. You can further specialize in an area of interest through elective courses,

Off-campus Locations

This program is available at off-campus locations across Maryland through the Towson Learning Network. There is a separate application for programs offered at reduced tuition rates to  school system employees.
