September 2014 Awardees

  Harpal Bains
 
Harpal S. Bains
has been awarded a 2014
Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship.

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Harpal S. Bains has been awarded a 2014 Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship in Memory of Cecilia Fisher Rudman.

Harpal graduated from Eastern Technical High School in Baltimore County, Maryland and is enrolled as a Biology major at Towson University in the Fall 2014. In his high school years, Harpal was a involved in the Relay for Life program which raised money fro cancer research, and he was a leader of the Skills USA team where he helped other students hone their allied health skills and prepare for outreach programs. In addition to to excelling academically, he was on the football and wrestling teams at Eastern technical High School. After graduating from Towson University, Harpal plans to pursue a career in physical therapy.

 

Jarrett Booz  
Jarrett A. Booz
has been awarded a 2014
Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship.
 

 

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Jarrett A. Booz has been awarded a 2014 Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship in Memory of Robert M. Fisher.

Jarrett graduated from Harford Technical High School in Harford County and is enrolled as a Computer Science major at Towson University in the Fall 2014. He was the captain of his high school cyber security team which was a finalist in the MDC3 Cyber Challenge. Jarrett was a member of National Honor Society and was a board member of the National Technical Honor Society. He also was tutor for fellow students having difficulties with mathematics. And he still found time to be the captain of his high school tennis and volleyball teams. After graduating from Towson University, Jarrett plans to enter the field of computer and network security.

has been awarded a 2014
Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship.

 

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Emily J. Fleischmann has been awarded a 2014 Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship in Memory of Cecilia Fisher Rudman.

Emily graduated from Hereford High School in Baltimore County, Maryland and is enrolled as a Chemistry major at Towson University in the Fall 2014. Emily was a member of both the Mathematics Honor Society and the national Honor Society. Her extracurricular activities included leadership roles in the Girl Scouts club and the local Police Explorers club. After graduating from Towson University, Emily plans to continue her education in medical school and become a physician.

 


Rachel Kneebone

has been awarded a 2014
Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship.
 

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Rachel L. Kneebone has been awarded a 2014 Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship in Memory of Cecilia Fisher Rudman.

Rachel graduated from Urbana High School in Frederick County and is enrolled as an Actuarial Science and Risk Management major at Towson University in the Fall 2014. Emily was a member of the National Mathematics Honor Society, and participated in the University of Maryland High School Mathematics Competition. Using her skills in mathematics,Rachel tutored College Algebra for the past two years. She also competed in speech contests, and as a junior in high school, placed second in the both the Maryland Sons of the American Revolution Oratory Contest and in District American Legion Oratorical Competition. Rachel's other extracurricular activities include the National Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. After graduating from Towson University, Rachel plans to become an actuary.

Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship.

 

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Rachel C. Lent has been awarded a 2014 Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship in Memory of Robert M. Fisher.

Rachel graduated from Calvert High School in Prince Frederick, Maryland and is enrolled as a Dual Degree Engineering Program major at Towson University in the Fall 2014. She has been a class council officer in both her junior and senior years, Rachel also participates in many volunteer activities through her church such as the Safe Nights shelter for the homeless. Among all of her activities, Rachel found time to play on the Calvert High School's junior varsity basketball team. After graduating from Towson University, Rachel plans to continue on towards a career in the biomedical field.

 

Jacob Mitchell  
Jacob T. Mitchell
has been awarded a 2014
Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship.
 

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Jacob T. Mitchell has been awarded a 2014 Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship in Memory of Cecilia Fisher Rudman.

Jacob graduated from Brunswick High School in Frederick County and is enrolled as a Biology major at Towson University in the Fall 2014. He was a member of National Honor Society, the varsity cross-country team, and the varsity indoor track team. Other extracurricular activities include being a member of the Random Acts of Kindness and Chess clubs at Brunswick High School, as well volunteer work for his church. As a senior, Jacob is working as an intern at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases. This experience has convinced Jacob that after graduating from Towson University, he plans go on to graduate school and earn a doctorate in biological sciences.

has been awarded a 2012
Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship. After graduating from Towson University, he plans to earn his Master's degree in either statistics or mathematics, and then pursue a career as a statistician or actuary.
Nicholas A. McKinley
has been awarded a 2013
Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship. After graduating from Towson University, heplans to teach physics and continue coaching swimming.

Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship. After graduating from Towson University, he plans to pursue a career in software engineering.
