The Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics (FCSM) provides the Michele M. Cooper, M.D. Scholarship, a donor-funded scholarship for an incoming freshman student from an Anne Arundel County High School who is committed to a major in the FCSM. This scholarship is renewable for up to three years as long as the student remains a major in the FCSM and in academic good standing as indicated below (in Eligibility and Criteria section).
Eligibility and Criteria:
Incoming freshman from an Anne Arundel County High School.
Students must be a first generation college student (neither parent completed college).
High School GPA of 3.1 or higher.
Intended or declared major in the FCSM.
Must be enrolled as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours).
Financial need must be considered.
Preference given to those students who will be living on campus.
The scholarship is renewable for three years so long as the recipient maintains an overall and in-major GPA of 3.5 and continues to major in the FCSM. Should a recipient's overall or in-major GPA fall below a 3.5 and no lower than a 3.3, they would have one semester to bring both back up to a 3.5.
Eligible students will be asked to apply and a subset will be asked to participate in an interview at Towson University prior to the final selection.
Scholarship is for $5,000 and can support tuition, fees, and/or room and board.
