Department of Family Studies and Community Development
Scheduling Advising Appointments
There is one appointment scheduling process for current majors who have already been assigned to an adviser and a different process for potential or new majors who do not have an assigned adviser.
Current Majors
Please access the Community Blackboard site titled FMST Advising Training. Click on the left navigation option titled Faculty Folders. Open the folder of your assigned adviser and follow the instructions for scheduling an appointment.
New or Potential Majors
Please contact the Department of Family Studies and Community Development either via phone at 410.704.5851 or via email at kcorthell@towson.edu. Guest access into FMST Advising Training will be provided. Read the Advising Learning Module and complete the Post-Test by clicking on this option in the left navigation pane. Following completion of the Module and Post-Test, contact the Family Studies office again to schedule an initial advising appointment with the department chairperson.
