Student Organizations
Two student organizations are sponsored by the
Department of Family Studies and Community Development.
Towson University Student Council on Family Relations (TUSCFR)
TUSCFR is a student organization that focuses on issues relevant to families. The purpose of the organization is to provide students with opportunities to learn from others in the field, network with students with similar interests, gain experience in a variety of community and family settings, and make a difference. It is not necessary to be a family studies major or minor to join.
What TUSCFR Does
The organization holds regular meetings, fund raising events, community outreach, and related fieldwork. Some recent activities in which students have participated include preparing and serving lunch at Johns Hopkins Children's House, assisting in a Halloween party at St. Vincent's School, organizing a bake sale to raise funds to adopt a family for the holidays from the Women's Housing Coalition, and hosting professional speakers from American Humanics and the Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Center (SARC).
Membership Details
Applications for membership are available in the Family Studies and Community Development Office in Linthicum Hall, Room 002 or by following the link below.
