In her social work practice, she has previously worked with families, adolescents, and the elderly as well as in a school setting. Dr. Stone also participated in Diversity Leadership Training, 2003-2004, and is interested in incorporating this in the classroom setting. She is a member of Tau Upsilon Alpha, the National Organization for Human Services Honor Society. Dr. Stone is a member of the National Council on Family Relations, the National Organization for Human Service Education, and the Organization for the Study of Communication, Language, and Gender. She has also served as an active board member since 1998 and is currently board secretary of the Women’s Housing Coalition, a nonprofit agency which works with homeless and low-income women and their families.
