Delta Rho- amazing Spring 2011 Semester

Delta Rho members continued their community support by volunteering for the Alzheimer's Association at the Annual Memory Ball, and even experienced a few celebrity spottings! The Alzheimer's Association continues to recognize the honor society's support and recruited several Delta Rho members for their planning committee for their annual Walk to End Alzheimer's annual event.

Congratulation to six new members who were inducted into Sigma Phi Omega, Lauren Conigliaro, Laketa Davis, Jennifer Daks. Laura Frazier, Natasha Holmes, and Kara Lockwood. The induction ceremony was held on April 29, 2011 with a wonderful presentation by Julie Lynn, Director of the Bykota Senior Center. Inductees received certificates, honor cords and pins. Guests were invited and light refreshments were served.
Delta Rho members also participated in Senior Home Repair Day during the past semester with NADIV (Neighbors Assisting Directly in Volunteerism) and CHAI
(Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc.). This event always proves to be one of their favorite events even though it’s a lot of
hard work. The dedicated members managed to mow, trim, and weed an entire yard back to beauty." It is always
so wonderful to see the impact our help has on the home-owners and they are always so appreciative", reports Andrea Lindemer, Delta Rho President for the 2010-2011 year. She adds, "it was
an incredibly rewarding experience."
Thanks to Andrea Lindemer who served as Delta Rho President and to the support from Emily Frank, Delta Rho's Vice President and the society's dedicated members for all their hard work this past year. Emily with serve as the New President of Delta Rho and Lauren Conigliaro will be the Vice President for the 2011-2012 school year. Students majoring in Gerontology and who wish be join the honor society should contact Dr. Emiko Takagi at etakagi@towson.edu.
