The Master of Science degree in Health Science is designed to meet needs within the State of Maryland for graduate-trained health professionals to work in educational, medical care, community and worksite settings. Students have the opportunity to develop expertise in fields of health administration, school and community health education. With 7 years to complete the degree, students can explore independent learning opportunities as well as more structured instruction in fields related to their personal and professional interests. Students enrolled in this Master’s Degree include: people like yourself, people already in the health care delivery system and individuals already grounded in human services, as well as people seeking to expand their expertise to include the field of health science.
Through completion of an optional thesis or project, students also have the option to enhance their learning through an in-depth research project in their chosen field of study. Requirements for admission to the program include coursework and/or experience in Health Science or related fields, as well as a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75. For people new to health science, a personal statement and at least 3 years documented work experience are required.
