"Employment of health educators is expected to grow by 37% from 2010 to 2020, much faster than the average for all occupations.Growth will be driven by efforts to reduce healthcare costs by teaching people about healthy habits and behaviors."  ........Health Educators Occupational Handbook, U.S. Bureau of Labor

Towson University's major in health education provides students with the opportunity to study the complex nature of wellness and human behavior.  Students with an aptitude for science learn the skills that enable them to apply teaching and learning principles to programs that maintain or improve the well being of others. Students selecting the student teaching experience will receive certification to teach grades 7 through 12.

Praxis Exams

Completing the Praxis I exam is one of several requirements for students in the School Health concentration and should be completed in the academic year before candidates begin student teaching.
