During Spring Semester 2000, students and instructors from three departments—Mass Communication; Reading, Special Education & Instructional Technology; and Theatre—have collaborated to create online resources for educators and the public. The classes are MCOM 407/507 Writing for New Media, ISTC 501/676 Utilizing Instructional Media and THEA 685 Performance Scholarship for the World Wide Web. Course content centered on the life and work of artist John Heartfield, but the concepts and strategies used can be applied to other topics as well.

The primary components of this site related to key educational resources includes: lesson plans for middle and high school students, a glossary of terms related to Heartfield's life, times and the musical, and a bibiliography which highlights mainly online resources.

Of course viewers interested in education will also find a range of multimedia projects focusing on other topics such as: the creation of a multimedia theatre musical, materials relating to theatre scholarship, and writing for the Web. All these topics and more relate to education from middle school through graduate.
