Allison Campbell-Set Designer
Allison Campbell received her MFA in design from Tulane University. Following graduate school she worked in New York. Her freelance career included such diverse experiences as designing the revival of Godspell at the Lamb's Theatre and the Ensemble Studio Theatre's Festival of One act Plays; supervising wardrobe for David Brenner's Nightlife; and assisting for designer, Heidi Landesman Ettinger and others for Off-Broadway and regional theatre productions. She found her artistic home at the Paper Bag Players where she built sets, props, costumes, and larger than life size puppets out of paper, cardboard, and found objects. During her twelve year association with the Obie award winning "Bags", she worked on ten original shows, seven of which she co-designed with artistic director Judith Martin. She has taught theatre at the Mississippi University for Women, Hollins University, Gettysburg College, and Towson University and conducted workshops for young dancers at the American Dance Festival. Recent set design work was see at Towson University's Marisol and Private Eyes for the source Theatre Company, D.C.. |
