I'm young. I'm not yet thirty. I am idealistic. I believe things. I feel things strongly. Above all I think: I am an artist. But art by itself isn't enough. If the world is fucked up and our lives are in chaos, then art must give meaning to the chaos, not add to it. To paint pictures to hang in the salons where the rich talk commerce and capital gains- or to fly in the face of convention simply to bring attention to oneself- isn't enough. My art won't just hang on the wall and show itself. My art will cry out to the workers and the poor. My art will fire warning shots over the heads of the rich.
