Students interested in declaring a major in history should discuss the major with someone in the department. Email or call the history department (410-704-2923) to see what advisor is available, or contact a professor you know directly. Consult the faculty directory.

If you have decided to declare history as your major:

  1. The first step is to fill out the Change of Major Form (available online).
  2. Then send a a copy to the department Administrative Assisstant, Ms. Pamela Frock (pfrock@towson.edu). The Administrative Assistant will assign you to a departmental advisor.
  3. You meet with your advisor to lay out a plan that will enable you to successfully complete the major. View the History Major Requirements to see a list of required courses and a worksheet to help plan your major.
