Homecoming

Join TU students, faculty and staff as we get "Wild with Pride" at Homecoming 2009!

Sunday, October 11
The CAB Homecoming Kick-Off Concert will take place at 7 p.m. in the Towson Center. Come watch Keri Hilson and Wale perform! Towson students will be able to purchase tickets in advance for $10 and $15 the day of the concert.

Monday, October 12
Sandwich Boards will be from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Towsontown Garage. Sandwich boards are large wood folding boards standing eight feet high and three feet wide. Each group/organization is challenged to paint both sides of their board with the Homecoming theme, Wild with Pride!

A Blood Drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Potomac Lounge. Also the New York Times Talk will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Chesapeake Rooms. students

Tuesday, October 13

Say What? Karaoke will be held on Burdick Field from 6 to 9 p.m. Towson invites YOU to become a star and show off your vocal talents (or, lack thereof) for points, individual prizes and bragging rights! Individual entries compete for prizes and group entries will compete for points. Spectators should bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the festivities!

Commuters come and join the Commuter Service Organization for a complimentary breakfast from 7 to 9:30 a.m. in Paws! This is a great opportunity to meet fellow students commuters, enjoy delicious food and enter to win fabulous prizes.

Wednesday, October 14

The Queer Student Union Drag Show is back again this semester at 8 p.m. in the Chesapeake Rooms! The Drag Show will have you singing, dancing and shaking dollar bills. This is an event you do not want to miss!

Adopt-A-Campus will be taking place from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Loch Raven Room. Groups, organizations, and individuals can donate two hours of your time to remove litter and debris from a portion of the Towson campus. Let’s all participate in keeping TU beautiful and clean!

Thursday, October 15
Come get your free 2009 Homecoming T-Shirt at noon on the Paws Patio! Show your TigerTown Pride by singing the Towson Fight song, body-spelling “TIGERS” and other creative ways.

Also, come Chalk the Walk from noon to 5 p.m. on the Paws Patio! Each group/organization will be given chalk to display their artistic ability by creating a unique sidewalk chalk design leading up to the University Union! Homecoming Court


Join the Homecoming Court in the King and Queen of the Jungle Pageant at 8 p.m. in the Chesapeake Rooms. The members of the Homecoming Court will model their semi-formal evening wear, TU attire and answer questions as they compete for your votes to become the 2009 Homecoming King and Queen!

Friday, October 16
Pep Rally and Yell-Like-Hell will be taking place at 7 p.m. in the Towson Center! Come join Towson students to get pumped up for the Homecoming Game against Delaware. Many organizations across campus will show their Towson spirit and YOU should come too!

Yell-Like-Hell is a competitive group performance in which student organizations present a short routine that compliments the Homecoming Theme, WILD WITH PRIDE!!! marching band

 

Saturday, October 17
The Homecoming tradition invites students, alumni and fans to show their TU Spirit and support in the Homecoming Tailgate from noon to 3 p.m. in Lot 14. The Homecoming Game will follow in the Unitas Stadium where Towson fans can cheer on the Football Team in a victory against Delaware!
  

Week Long Homecoming Events

Residence Hall Decorating

Show your TU Spirit in your room, hallway, and community center! The winning resident hall will receive a community gift and the Second Annual Trophy for this competition! Decorations must be completed by Friday, October 16 at noon and must be removed by Monday, October 19 at 5 p.m.

Change for Change

Organization will sponsor containers for loose change (pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters) to be deposited. Organizations will compete against each other to raise the most money. The group raising the most money will win the opportunity to donate all money collected to the charity of their choice! Buckets may be picked up on Monday, October 5 at the Mandatory Information Meeting at 5 p.m. for decoration and must be returned on Monday, October 12 by 5 p.m. to be eligible for week long competition. All organizations will be required to state their chosen charity at the time of registration.

Daily Questions – Do You Bleed Black and Gold?

Test your knowledge of Towson Spirit. The Daily Digest will include that question the question of the day, drop-off location and drop-off time. One correct entry will be randomly selected daily and win a gift. The Daily Question is an individual activity. Membership to an organization is not required.

One form is needed per team. To register for events, you must complete the form located in the Homecoming Booklet and return it to the University Union, Room 217 by Friday, October 2 at noon. The Homecoming Booklets are available in the Office of Student Activities, University Union, Room 217, beginning September 28. If you are interested in reading more about the events, the Homecoming Booklet is available here electronically; however only the hard copies picked up from the Office of Student Activities will be accepted for registration forms.

Registration Categories

  • Friends – Grab five (or more) of your best friends, create a team name and compete to be the best group of friends on campus.
  • Residence Hall – Show your school spirit with your suitemates and neighbors.
  • Greek Life – Sororities and Fraternities compete head-to-head.
  • Student Organizations – Compete with other members of your campus club or organization.


Individuals are invited and encouraged to participate in events throughout the week. At each event, the individual will receive a raffle ticket to be entered into a drawing and selected at the Homecoming Game halftime.
