Renaissance Festival
September 23, 2007
Thirty-two Honors College freshmen and upperclassmen alike gathered early on a Sunday morning to depart for the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Everyone split up into groups to wander around, browse shops, watch shows, eat food, and count the people dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow. The students learned first hand about Renaissance culture through the costumes, artwork, and performances. Some of the more informative events included a jousting match and a twenty minute performance of Shakespeare's Macbeth.
