Hi, folks! My name is Steven C. Sweat, M.Ed. I have been a Residence Life Coordinator since 2011, working with the Tower D community. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clemson University in Clemson, SC (Go Tigers!) and my Masters of Education in Student Personnel in Higher Education from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL (Go Gators!). I hail from the midlands of South Carolina. More specifically, Hopkins, SC. As an eager professional, I’m primarily interested in diversity education and interculturalism, learning how to become an effective Social Justice Educator and supporting student leadership within hall government. As I reflect on my time at Towson, I enjoy the opportunities to collaborate throughout the division, such as supporting initiatives like the Retreat for Social Justice (with the Center of Student Diversity), LeaderShape (with the Office of Student Activities) and Tiger Talks (with the Office of New Student Programs) to name a few. There is also support for leadership opportunities within affiliated associations, such as the Mid-Atlantic Association of College and University Housing Officers (MACUHO). When working with college students, I feel I specialize in relationship-building, community-building, student leadership and success, and understanding intersections of identity.
