HOUSING and RESIDENCE LIFE

University Housing

welcomeFor nine months, your home will be a TU Residence Hall. Rooms are equipped with basic cable TV, high-speed Internet service, and a Microfridge unit. All rooms are furnished with beds, desks, chairs, closets/wardrobes, dressers, wall-to-wall carpeting, and blinds/drapes. In-house laundry facilities, lounges, study rooms, and vending areas are located in each hall. Air conditioning is provided in all halls except for Prettyman and Scarborough.

Below is important information you should know about living in a Towson University Residence Hall:

How Are
Rooms Assigned?

Roommate requests receive first priority and must be mutual. All roommate requests received will be given consideration if space is available.
Requests for housing options are made on a space-available basis and must be received by May 2nd.
We cannot honor requests for a specific room, type of room, building, suite mates or location of a room within a building.
Some buildings house students in two-, three- and four-capacity rooms.

Temporary Triples
and Other Possibilities

Keep in mind there’s a chance you’ll be assigned to a temporarily tripled or discounted room. Here’s what to expect:

Tripled Rooms for Fall Semester - Some Glen Complex double rooms will be expanded to triples. Students assigned to triples will receive a pro-rated refund once the room is returned to double occupancy. All rooms will be de-tripled by spring semester.
Discounted Rooms - Students assigned to discounted rooms in Residence Tower will be asked to remove all personal belongings at the end of the fall semester to accommodate athletes and Minimester students during winter break. When students return for the spring semester, students living on these floors will receive a $250 credit on their account.
Overflow Rooms - Some students may be temporarily assigned to overflow housing. These rooms are normally used as study lounges or Rec rooms. They will be furnished to accommodate students until a
permanent assignment becomes available. Students will receive a pro-rated refund once assigned to a permanent room.
