HOUSING AND RESIDENCE LIFE

Moving In

Roommates

Your roommate(s) will be very important part of your college experience. We encourage you to contact them and have regular communication before you arrive - both to get to know them and to coordinate what things you are planning to bring. Communication continues to be the key after you arrive. Roommates need to communicate their expectations with each other. For example:

What are your hobbies and interests?
What are hours you usually study? Sleep?
Do you study in the room with music or with the TV?
It is all right to borrow each other's personal belongings?
When can guests be in the room?
Requesting Roommates

Mutual roommate requests receive first priority. All roommate requests made prior to May 1 will be honored if space is available. No room change request will be considered for the first two weeks of the semester.

Room assignments are made in order that housing deposits are received.
Roommate requests receive first priority and must be mutual. All roommate requests made by May 1 will be honored if space is available.
Requests for housing options are made on a space-available basis.
We cannot honor requests for a specific room, type of room, building, suitemates or location of a room within a building. Two-, three- and four-capacity rooms are assigned as regular multiple occupancy.

The Department of Housing & Residence Life reserves the right to reassign and /or relocate any resident student when necessary.
