Certificates for Managers & Supervisors

Effective Supervision Program (ESP)

This cohort style program takes place during three full days of learning over a three-four week period. Cohorts meet once during the fall semester and once during the spring semester. Breakfast and lunch are provided for all three days.

Each day is filled with both the theory and application of supervision. You will leave with a better understanding of your role as a supervisor here at TU, as well as a better understanding of how you supervise by completing self-assessments, learning through case studies, and being able to ask questions to various Human Resources managers about each topic area. This program is facilitated by Dr. Filiz Tabak from TU's Management department.

Post-ESP Certificates

Performance Management

One area to excel in the Management & Supervision competency at Towson University is performance management. Managers and supervisors should be able to speak to the importance of performance reviews and know how to conduct them. Providing feedback and growing your staff is not a once a year activity. It is vital to our success for managers and supervisors to be able to deliver timely and meaningful guidance and feedback. The post-ESP Performance Management certificate will help develop this competency.
