
Integrated Homeland Security Management Program
Admissions Information
In order to be accepted to Towson University in the Integrated
Homeland Security Management Program you will need to apply to the
Graduate School as soon as possible. This will allow you to register
in IHSM courses. If you are a current non-degree seeking student
at Towson, and are interested in HSM courses, please call the Center's
office at 410-704-3968 for instructions.
TU Graduate School ~ How to Apply
- You will need $50.00 for the application fee. (Please see the application form
for the most current fee.)
- If you are an international student, be sure to follow the specific
directions given for applying as an international student.
- You will receive a letter in the mail after your application
is reviewed.

Admission Requirements
- a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (for example, political
science, health science, information technology, or others).
- Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 (on a scale of
4.00) on the most recent 60 units of graduate or undergraduate
work.
- Three years post-bachelor's experience working in health, information
technology, security, or related areas is recommended.
- Minimum TOEFL score of 550 (where applicable)
- Applicants must submit a résumé and a one-to-two
page statement describing their past relevant experience, their
career goals, and how they expect this program to support their
career goals.
- Two reference letters are recommended attesting to your ability
to withstand the rigors of a graduate education
These programs are intended for:
- persons having a bachelor's degree in information technology,
health science, political science or other homeland security
related field who will enter the program for advanced studies.
- persons having a bachelor's degree in a field not mentioned
above who are already employed in a homeland security related
field and are seeking additional academic studies for professional
growth or to advance their career.
- persons having a bachelor's degree in disciplines other than
the homeland security field who are seeking preparation for
careers in this field.
