AMST 201 Introduction to American Studies (3)
Interdisciplinary course interpreting American Culture through historical documents, literature, film, music, art and popular expressions.

AMST 291 Directed Readings in American Studies (3)
Independent research in American Stuudies on a topic selected by the student in consultation with the instructor.

AMST 497 Internship in Material Culture (3)
Students will work with members of the curatorial staff at a local museum to learn various museum techniques, examine the collections, and understand the educational and scholarly uses of material culture. A daily log and 90 hours of participation are required.
