David A. Sides, PMP, Project Manager, joined CGIS in 1997 as a GIS Technician. He oversees a variety of data and application development projects. He is currently managing the addition of several transit facilities to the Maryland Transit Administration TIGERS GIS mapping application, and is also leading an effort to expand and enhance the capabilities of the system. He manages data updates to the Maryland Broadband Mapping Initiative and web development activities for the Maryland Department of Transportation's Office of Real Estate. He previously managed the data components for the Maryland Aviation Administration Office of Design's Airport Engineering Information System project, and he directed a project to create a Seychelles Islands habitat mapper for the Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation. Projects for the Maryland Emergency Management Agency include developing the Multi-Risk Hazard Assessment and updating the Hazard Analysis. He also managed the Statewide Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Mapping project, which created a generalized projection map for Maryland based on high-resolution contour information for coastal counties at risk for sea level rise from 2-, 5-, and 10-foot sea level inundation. Mr. Sides earned an MA and a BS in Geography at Towson University and a BS in Business Administration at Towson University. He earned his Project Management Professional Certification in 2005 and was recertified in 2008 and 2012. He is currently completing requirements for GISP certification.
