Michael Bentivegna, Associate Director, Information Technology Services, joined CGIS in 2000 as a Senior GIS Technician. He establishes technology and business development goals for CGIS by combining research into emerging technologies with a vision of their inherent ability to improve any organization's efficiency and productivity. He directs the Application Development and Data Development units and manages the CGIS role to architect, host, maintain, and update MD iMap in cooperation with the Maryland Governor's Office and Maryland Department of Natural Resources. He is a subject matter expert for GIS in homeland security initiatives, working closely with the Maryland Emergency Management Agency to incorporate GIS into planning and response activities. Mr. Bentivegna's credentials include an MA in Geography and Environmental Planning from Towson University and a BA in Environmental Science from SUNY Plattsburgh.
