Anna Krzystyniak-Sobiewska, GIS Specialist III, joined CGIS in 2011. She performs advanced level GIS database development and analysis on site at the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), and she provides GIS support to the State Emergency Operations Center and the Maryland Joint Operations Center during declared activations and State emergencies. In addition to participating in emergency management exercises up to the cabinet level, she represents MEMA at conferences and in meetings with State and local government representatives. Her technical responsibilities include designing, developing, and documenting geoprocessing models and script, and dynamic map services for deployment. She conducts daily and periodic testing of the OSPREY emergency management map application to ensure full functionality and reliability, and she performs troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to MEMA's GIS. Ms. Krzystyniak-Sobiewska earned a Master's degree in Professional Study, Geographic Information Systems, and a Professional Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems, from University of Maryland Baltimore County. She also holds a Diploma of Post Graduate in Human Resources from the School of Banking in Gdansk, Poland, and a Master's degree in Geography from Pomeranian Pedagogical Academy in Slupsk, Poland.
